LPN Alumni: It’s Easier Than Ever to Start Your RN Bridge

Hey BTC LPN grads, we see you out there making a difference. If earning your RN has been sitting in the back of your mind, we’ve got great news! We’ve revised our RN Bridge program prerequisite list to make getting started simpler. You’ve already done the hard work in your LPN program, and now you can put that experience to use right away!

The Update

Previously, we required 6 general education classes to be completed before you could be accepted into the RN Bridge program. Now, you only need to have Anatomy & Physiology I and II and Nutrition completed to apply! The other 3 general education classes that were prereqs are now part of the first semester of the RN Bridge program. Same content needed to graduate, just fewer needed to get started. And as a BTC LPN grad, you have those prereqs done and can move forward immediately!

“We want to remove unnecessary delays and help motivated nurses move forward right away,” said Erin Mock, MSN, RN, CNE, Director of Nursing Education. “It’s about access, progress, and helping nurses achieve their goals sooner.”

If you’ve been thinking about earning your RN, this might be the perfect time. Your experience matters, and now the pathway to the next step in your nursing career is more accessible than ever.

How The Bridge Works

You’ve already completed the one year LPN program at BTC, and all of those classes will be the foundation in the RN Bridge program. The information you already learned as a nurse will just need to be recalled and built on. The first semester of the RN Bridge program is the “transition semester”, spent with fellow LPNs transitioning into an RN mindset, dusting off skills in the lab, and getting back into those nursing school study habits. When the fall semester begins, you’ll seamlessly join the RN cohort after their summer break and continue RN classes and clinicals with them through the fall and spring semester before graduating in May! In short, your RN Bridge program looks like: Summer Transition + Fall RN + Spring RN.

It’s More Fun with a Friend

When our students are in class with their coworkers, friends, or family, their experience is more fun! You can study together, encourage each other, and have someone who understands what you’re going through (we all need a weekly vent session in nursing school, right?) We highly encourage you to grab a buddy and get signed up together. But know that you will find a friend in your program here at BTC to be the support you need.

Seats are limited for our 2026 program, so we encourage you to secure your seat for the 2026 cohort now!
