LPN Class Achieves Remarkable 100% Pass Rate on Next Gen NCLEX

We are proud to announce our Practical Nursing Class of 2023 has achieved a remarkable 100% pass rate on the Next Generation NCLEX (NGN). This achievement marks the second consecutive class graduating from BTC to accomplish a perfect pass rate on this updated nursing licensure exam!

The NGN represents the latest evolution in nursing licensure examinations. It is designed to assess a nursing graduate’s ability to apply clinical judgment in real-life scenarios, emphasizing critical thinking and decision-making skills. Our faculty’s commitment to staying ahead of industry changes ensures that graduates are well-prepared for the challenges posed by this rigorous exam.

The new Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs) are: Tristen Bartlett of Bolivar, Gracien Copeland of Springfield, Cheri Eyanson of Marionville, Crystal Gholston of Springfield, Sarah Gregory of Springfield, Kasey Hightower of Fair Grove, Michelle Holder of Stockton, Hailee Kell of Humansville, Jessica King of Battlefield, Aiva Layten of Springfield, Amelia Oberg of Nixa, Makenna Ortlieb of Springfield and Lisa Wolf of Pittsburg.

Erin Mock, Director of Nursing Education at BTC, said, “We are so proud of these thirteen graduates. I am confident that their success will positively impact the care in our community, and we look forward to watching their continued accomplishments and growth in their career as nurses.”

Throughout their one-year LPN program at BTC, students underwent a comprehensive preparation process for the NCLEX. A key component of this preparation is the program curriculum’s integration of exams structured like the NCLEX, delivered through BTC’s partner, ATI. These assessments, focusing on critical thinking skills, help students build the confidence and competence needed to excel on the licensure exam. Additionally, students participated in a 3-day ATI Live review with a representative from ATI, further honing their test-taking strategies and knowledge.

Passing the NCLEX is a mandatory step for graduate nurses to become LPNs. LPNs play a vital role in the healthcare field, providing direct patient care, administering medications and collaborating with Registered Nurses (RN) and other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive patient well-being.

Congratulations to the Practical Nursing Class of 2023 on this outstanding achievement! The long hours of studying, sacrifices made and perseverance demonstrated by these new LPNs exemplify our high standards to produce the best nurses in the area.
