BTC Is Making It Easier to Start the RN Bridge Program

Posted on November 17, 2025

At Bolivar Technical College, we’re always looking for ways to make nursing education more accessible for working professionals. Our newly updated RN Bridge program does just that… helping LPNs and Paramedics take the next step toward becoming Registered Nurses without unnecessary delays.

The Update

We’ve streamlined our admissions process so you can get started sooner. Instead of 6 prerequisite classes, we’ve narrowed it down to 3: Anatomy & Physiology I & II and Nutrition. That’s the fewest prerequisites for an RN Bridge program in the area! That means fewer hoops to jump through before you can secure your seat in the RN Bridge program. The other 3 general education classes that were previously prereqs are now part of the first semester of the RN Bridge program. This means the same content will be completed before graduation in May, just in a more streamlined path.

“Our goal is to eliminate unnecessary delays,” said Erin Mock, MSN, RN, CNE, Director of Nursing Education. “By folding the necessary courses into the program sequence, we’re allowing motivated LPNs and Paramedics to move forward right away. It’s about access, progress, and helping nurses achieve their goals sooner.”

The RN Bridge program continues to offer a one-year pathway (Summer–Fall–Spring) to earn an Associate of Science in Nursing degree — maintaining the same academic quality and clinical rigor BTC is known for, but with more flexibility for today’s busy professionals.

What You Can Expect

• Fewer admission hurdles and a streamlined application process
• The chance to start sooner
• Paid clinical opportunities for students in the program
• Employers in the region offering tuition assistance or full reimbursement for qualifying nurses and paramedics
• A program structure designed to fit working healthcare schedules

These updates reflect BTC’s commitment to student success and community workforce needs. Whether you’re a recent LPN grad or an experienced Paramedic, this is your opportunity to keep growing your career and your impact in patient care.

It’s More Fun with a Friend

When our students are in class with their coworkers, friends, or family, their experience is more fun! You can study together, encourage each other, and have someone who understands what you’re going through (we all need a weekly vent session in nursing school, right?) We highly encourage you to grab a buddy and get signed up together. But know that you will find a friend in your program here at BTC to be the support you need.

Seats are limited for our 2026 program, so we encourage you to secure your seat for the 2026 cohort now! Learn more or apply at bolivarcollege.edu/programs/rn-bridge, or reach out by phone (417-777-5062), email (info@bolivarcollege.edu), or text (417-771-3543).
